Uno de los grandes avances que distintos países occidentales implementaron en su proceso de desarrollo social fue el de la redacción y aplicación de un texto jurídico y político destinado a convertirse en la ley máxima de un Estado. Desde entonces España ha conocido varias constituciones que esta obra analiza mostrando con ello el proceso político, jurídico y social que España ha recorrido hasta llegar hasta la actual Constitución de 1978.
